| The health magazine trend is to go for natural and alternative methods and treatments | | Posted Sunday, February 12, 2006 11:20:13 AM by Rose Martins | Your health has always been an important topic but today with the stresses, tensions and pollution of our modern world, there is even a great emphasis on health. When it comes to health, the growing trend is towards natural and alternative methods.
But whatever your health preference, there are magazines to cover various health issues. There are men's health magazines, woman's health magazines, health magazines for the diabetic and there are natural health magazines, all which cover current health issues and topics.
Most diet and healty eating organisations also publish their own health magazine. New editions of this type of health magazine are usually published every two months, or 4 times per year.
The USA is notorious for obesity and bad eating habits. American health magazines are now trying to focus on healthy diet and nutrition issues, especially since the movie that caused the whole MacDonald's fiasco.
And for the person who can't afford to indulge in a printed copy of a health magazine, there is always the internet. Most health magazines will have an online edition which probably won't cover the entire content of the printed edition of health magazine, but it's pretty good. ... | |

| | | The dog ate my homework | | Posted Friday, February 02, 2007 1:04:20 PM by Blog57 Team | | Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, step right up! Step right up and see Jowly McBeal, the world's most amazing, most stupendous, most steel-stomached, earplug-puking Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! Watch as she eats household items no mammal known to man should be able to stomach. Listen as she regurgitates the orange rubber nubbins just hours later. Feel the excitement of wondering just what she might choose to eat next, and reel as she surpasses your wildest expectations. Yes, folks, step right up and be dazzled by the canine capacity to pass just about anything off as nourishment even as it poisons them before your very eyes. OK, time to switch off the carnival barker in my head and get on with this column, which I'd originally planned to be a commentary on the utter irrelevance of "The Grammys," an awards show that almost manages to make "The People's Choice Awards" look like a bastion of high culture.... | |

From his Midway office, he produces Mestawet Ethiopian Newspaper, a monthly tabloid distributed nationwide to cities including Denver, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Dallas, where substantial numbers of Ethiopians reside. According to his estimates, the Ethiopian immigrant population has grown to almost 20,000 in Minnesota. Kebede said the paper, with circulation of 6,000 to 8,000, is one of three or four in the U.S. written in Amharic, Ethiopia's official language.
