Yes, many people still like to read a magazine that you can flip the pages with your fingers, but for the businessman on the move, an online magazine edition is a great tool.

Business magazines cover a variety of topics, such as home industry, business ethics, business insurance and business finance. Some business magazines are issued every week, others bi-monthly and monthly.
The Canadian Business Online magazine features various topics tabs, each of which has relevant subtopics. It also has breaking news items relevant to the canadian businessman, as well as financial indeces, featured articles, and the possibility for each businessman to log in to their own personal member's page. The news and information featured in this online business magazine is updated not weekly or monthly, but rather continuously.
The online edition of the Canadian Business Magazine also offers special subscription prices for the printed edition to be mailed to your home or business. This is open to residents of Canada and the United States only. ...

File after file emerged after school heads were encouraged by the Girls' Schools Association to scour their buildings for historic documents. Among them were stories of girls taught to be dutiful housewives who could wash shirt cuffs properly and control household dust, and children as young as 11 sitting down to tough examinations in which they were expected to be able to draw maps of the physical geography of Australia and tackle questions of grammar such as identifying predicates in passages of writing. ....

| | | Here's how to save on bookstore rewards | | Posted Monday, November 13, 2006 7:21:15 AM by Blog57 Team | | The country's major book superstores, Borders and Barnes & Noble, are constantly competing for your business. And with good reason -- in 2005, the two companies made more than $247 million dollars in combined profits. Now it seems you can't pay for a mocha or a magazine at one of these stores without fielding an offer to join their member programs. But do they actually save you money? That depends on what you buy, where you buy and how much you spend. If you shop at Borders, do sign up for its rewards program, if only because it's free. If you want to actually reap its rewards, however, you must pay attention. Spend more than $50 in any Borders store during any calendar month, and you're rewarded with a "personal shopping day" when you can save 10 percent on all purchases.... | |

| | | Grouper offers 100 "famous" Sony clips for free | | Posted Saturday, November 11, 2006 1:25:25 PM by Blog57 Team | | Months before YouTube made headlines in business magazines across the country for its sale to Google, Sony Pictures had already snapped up a smaller site of its own called Grouper. Since giving away free video clips is not a stellar business model, Sony and Grouper hit on a new plan to boost publicity and revenues: give away famous clips for free. As part of Grouper's new "ScreenBites" program, the company is making available 100 of the most "famous scenes" from the Sony Pictures library. Consumers will be able to watch the clips for free, but can also embed them in blogs and websites. If you thought MySpace was annoying before, just wait until half of the pages include De Niro's "You talkin' to me?" bit. The announcement of the new service touts the availability of classic clips from films like A Few Good Men and On the Waterfront, but a closer look at the film list shows that it's padded mostly with such compelling fare as Beverly Hills Ninja, Big Daddy, Charlie's Angels, and—yes—Mr.... | |

| | | Sunshine business briefs | | Posted Monday, November 06, 2006 3:19:03 PM by Blog57 Team | | Making the inside of your store clean and orderly isn't just attractive to shoppers. It also has a negative effect on shoplifters, according to a new University of Florida study. ''Shoplifters enter a store, scan the space and quickly judge whether it's unprotected, understaffed or offers a quick escape,'' said Caroline Cardone, a UF graduate student who did the research as part of her master's thesis. Thieves avoid stores with wide, clear aisles and clean, well-maintained interiors, Cardone said. They also don't like stores that are logically planned. It's important that cashiers have a clear view of the aisles, she said. As part of the research, 20 apprehended shoplifters in Dania, Orlando and Chicago were interviewed. Shoplifters cost an estimated $10 billion in losses in 2004.... | |

| | | Small Business How To | | Posted Saturday, November 04, 2006 7:25:13 PM by Blog57 Team | | Question: How do I navigate a successful business lunch? Answer: When it comes to business lunches, you can accomplish all of your goals if you are prepared and if you dont make the following critical mistakes. 1. Surely one little drink wont hurt. Think again. Bad ideas start to sound good when youre tipsy and you may even become inclined to share off-color jokes or reveal confidences that could sink your career. Drinking clouds your judgment, so unless your clients take the lead, dont suggest a round of cocktails. If they order a drink, you can avoid an awkward situation by ordering one, too, but make it something light and dont finish it. 2. Hey there, sexy. Never assume your clients are looking for a date. People can appear extremely friendly or open, but that doesnt mean you should get fresh when courting business with someone of the opposite sex.... | |
